Poll panel restores oversight, puts IT chief Seema Khanna under deputy EC’s supervision
The Election Commission has notified a senior deputy election commissioner to supervise the work of its information technology division, whose app has come into question for denying statutory authorities the power to edit the electoral list during the SIR.
The commission’s office order No. 226/7/2026 on Wednesday on work distribution places its IT director-general, Seema Khanna, under the oversight of senior deputy election commissioner Pawan Kumar Sharma.
