India needs 2.5-3 GHz more spectrum for 5G-Advanced, 6G: GSMA’s John Giusti
NEW DELHI: India will need 2.5-3 gigahertz (GHz) of total mobile spectrum as it heads to 5G-Advanced and sixth-generation (6G) technologies, said a top global executive at GSMA.
“Given the scale of India, I think as we look to the future, it is going to need to make sure it has probably even more spectrum than some other markets,” John Giusti, chief regulatory officer at GSMA, told ETTelecom in an interview. “I estimate India may need in the range of 2.5-3 GHz total of mobile spectrum.”
