Meta suspends Bengal Congress’ Instagram account, party says ‘dictatorship’

The Bengal Congress’ Instagram account was suspended by Meta, the parent company of several popular social media platforms, on Tuesday.

A note posted by the company on the party’s Instagram account, “incbengalcongress”, stated: “Account not available in India. We temporarily restricted access to this account pursuant to legal requirements under India’s Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules.”
