PIL in Madras HC seeks probe into Saurav Das’s nationality, social media ban over remarks on judiciary

The Madras High Court on Friday issued notice on a public interest litigation (PIL) seeking an investigation into the nationality and background of journalist and Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) spokesperson Saurav Das, along with a block of his social media accounts over alleged derogatory remarks against the judiciary.

According to Bar and Bench, the petition, filed by Ganesh Kumar in the case titled ‘Ganesh Kumar Vs Regional Passport Officer’, seeks an investigation into Das’ identity and background, besides directions to block his X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram accounts over alleged statements against judges of the Supreme Court.
