Japanese TANAKA says to expand India semiconductor business, no plans for local manufacturing
NEW DELHI: TANAKA Precious Metals India said it has started engaging with domestic semiconductor companies, following the government’s sector-specific schemes, and said it is looking to expand its business in the country.
However, the Indian subsidiary of the Japanese TANAKA Kikinzoku Kogyo said it has no immediate plans to establish a manufacturing facility, as the on-the-ground situation is still evolving.
“It depends on the situation. It is hard to comment at present because Semicon 2.0 requires deeper consideration…but it depends on the situation,” Kazuo Meguro, MD, TANAKA Precious Metals India, told ETElectronicsWorld in an interview.
