Samsung secures AI RAN contracts with KT, SK Telecom for 5G private networks

NEW DELHI: Samsung Electronics has secured contracts with KT and SK Telecom for their AI RAN projects, operating under the Korean Ministry of Science and ICT’s (MSIT) “Hyper AI Network” initiative.

Samsung will serve as the sole global vendor for KT and the main vendor for SK Telecom, being the only partner selected for both collaborations.

These projects, scheduled to commence in October 2026, involve deploying 5G Standalone (SA) private networks across various industrial settings, including shipyards and petrochemical facilities. The primary objective is to validate AI RAN capabilities and generate real-world insights crucial for future network deployments, while also laying the groundwork for the transition to 6G.
