T-Mobile says achieves world’s first 5G SA roaming connection with India’s Jio

NEW DELHI: The US-based telecom operator T-Mobile said on Monday it has achieved the world’s first 5G standalone (SA) roaming connection with India’s Jio, leveraging the Syniverse technology.

This will enable T-Mobile customers to experience 5G SA roaming while traveling internationally, according to a joint statement.

5G SA roaming delivers faster speeds, lower latency, and more reliable connections, paving the way for applications in IoT, real-time communications, and immersive technologies that depend on consistent and high-performance global connectivity.
