Plea to information and broadcasting ministry against fest film ‘bans’ over IDSFFK
The Keralam State Chalachitra Academy has sent a letter to the Union information and broadcasting ministry, urging it to reconsider its decision to deny permission to screen 31 films selected for the 18th International Documentary and Short Film Festival (IDSFFK).
The IDSFFK is scheduled to be held in Thiruvananthapuram from September 25 to 30.
The academy had submitted a list of 347 films to the Centre seeking exemption from censor certificates. The officials had submitted a brief synopsis of all the films along with the application to the Centre. An academy official told The Telegraph that the Centre was unhappy with certain films.
