Quick commerce hits profit wall as India’s quick-delivery sector recalibrates brand growth

India’s quick-commerce sector is gradually moving away from the discount-fuelled playbook that engineered its meteoric rise. Yet, despite the blistering top-line expansion, durable and sector-wide profitability remains just out of reach.

The industry has entered what analysts term a “market calibration” phase. Micro-fulfilment centres are multiplying, catalogues are broadening far beyond milk and bread to high value products like smartphones, and companies are quietly tapering consumer subsidies to mend strained operating metrics.
