Not Elon Musk, this tech CEO has emerged Donald Trump’s ‘favourite’ AI safety ally

While several Silicon Valley billionaires, including Elon Musk, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, have reportedly sought closer ties with US President Donald Trump during his second term, it is Nvidia chief executive Jensen Huang who has established himself as the president’s go-to partner on artificial intelligence (AI) safety, as per a report. This dynamic was on full display last week during the All-In Summit in Los Angeles. While addressing attendees on stage, Huang put an incoming phone call from the US president directly on speakerphone for the audience to hear.

During the exchange, Trump reiterated his public stance that growing panic over artificial intelligence infrastructure is a “hoax,” reassuring the crowd that machines are not on the verge of taking over the world.
