India transitioning from R&D base to market for smart, connected systems: NXP CTO Lars Reger
New Delhi: India is rapidly moving beyond its traditional role as an engineering and R&D talent hub to emerge as a market for smart, connected devices and automated systems, Lars Reger, Executive Vice President and CTO of Dutch firm NXP Semiconductors, said on Thursday.
Speaking at SEMICON India 2026, Reger highlighted that while NXP and its legacy entities – Motorola and Freescale – have maintained an R&D presence in India for more than 50 years; the country’s domestic market potential has undergone a major shift over the past two to three years.
