    Eight persons arrested in SIM card racket

    Eight persons were arrested in connection with an alleged racket that fraudulently issued SIM cards and misused them for cybercrime.

    The investigation began after police received “actionable intelligence” about suspected SIM card misuse.

    “This included the use of SIM cards in cybercrimes which were issued in the name of persons who were clueless that extra SIM cards had been issued in their names,” said an officer of Bidhannagar cybercrime police station.
