As AI fear grows, CEO of ARM, biggest UK-headquartered tech company, says that AI will find a cure for cancer that humans could not in our lifetimes
As fears around artificial intelligence (AI) continue to grow, one of the UK’s biggest technology leaders has made a very different prediction about where the technology could take humanity. Rene Haas, CEO of Arm Holdings, says AI could help find a cure for cancer within our lifetime. Haas believes that this is something humans may not be able to achieve on their own as the problem of understanding how cancer affects cells and DNA is simply too complex for humans and current computers to fully solve.
But as AI models become more advanced and are trained on more data, he expects computers to eventually tackle the problem.
