Telcos, technology providers have to invest in responsible AI: TRAI’s AK Lahoti

NEW DELHI: Telecom operators and technology companies have to invest in responsible AI and support it with human oversight for high-impact, autonomous systems, according to a top official of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI).

“Telecom operators and technology companies need to invest in responsible AI and maintain human oversight for high-impact systems,” said Anil Kumar Lahoti, chairman, TRAI.

He spoke at the CO.AI 2026 event jointly organised by the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) and the UK government.
