HFCL boosts capex to ₹1,800 crore for optical fibre production

NEW DELHI: Homegrown telecom gear maker HFCL has expanded its capital expenditure (capex) to approximately ₹1,800 crore to boost the production capacity of optical fibre, optical fibre cable, and preform, the company said in a regulatory filing on Monday.

The company’s board approved an additional capacity expansion of 46 lakh fibre kilometres (Kms) per annum for optical fibre, 56.4 lakh fibre Kms per annum for optical fibre cable, and 300 metric tonnes (MT) per annum for preform.
