India takes the AI route to deepen defence partnership with Sri Lanka
India will help Sri Lanka establish an Artificial Intelligence (AI) facility for its Army, Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh announced during a visit to Colombo, underscoring Delhi’s push to deepen defence and maritime cooperation with its island neighbour. This move places AI and capacity-building at the centre of defence cooperation between the two countries.
Speaking at a deck reception aboard INS Udaygiri in Colombo, Rajnath Singh said India remains a committed partner for enhancing the capabilities of the Sri Lankan Armed Forces.
