Explaining Temple, Deepinder Goyal’s head-worn health monitoring wearable

For over a year, Zomato’s Deepinder Goyal has made his public appearances wearing a peculiar metallic bean on his temple (side of the forehead), resembling something that we are used to seeing on cybernetic beings from sci-fi movies – he calls it Temple. Quite an unsurprising name.

Temple, which is Goyal’s other venture other than Eternal (the holding company of Zomato), aims to get into wearable fitness. Unlike most competitors, Temple avoids adding another screen to your daily routine. Instead, it focuses on screenless, “wear-and-forget” technology, echoing Google’s approach with the Fitbit Air.
