Jio 5G looks beyond India as homegrown technology targets overseas telecom markets

Telecom major Jio has built the world’s largest 5G customer base outside China, with 268.5 million 5G users in India, and its homegrown technology platforms could now attract interest from overseas markets as countries step up investments in next-generation telecom networks.

“Usually when countries look to upgrade their telecom network, they look at companies from traditional markets like the US and China. But back home, Jio has already developed capabilities and may look to monetise some of its solutions globally. So there could be a lot of global inbound interest for partnerships in future,” a telecom industry observer told The Telegraph.
