India and Japan target AI, Semiconductors
India and Japan are positioning the manufacture of critical technology and supply chain resilience at the centre of their bilateral agenda, as Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal leads India’s largest-ever business delegation to Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka starting Monday, August 24.
The engagements are expected to accelerate joint manufacturing initiatives and help build resilient supply chains in next-generation industries—spanning semiconductors, artificial intelligence, clean energy, and advanced automotive design—aligning Japan’s technology leadership with India’s industrial scaling targets, according to a statement.
