Mark Zuckerberg buys castle in Ireland, adds 440-acre estate to property portfolio
The Strancally Castle in County Waterford, Ireland, where elderberry wine once filled the glasses, is the latest address to be added to the portfolio of Meta chief executive Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan.
The 440-acre estate, which sits on the banks of the River Blackwater, was bought in an off-market deal — that is, privately rather than through a public listing.
The nearly 200-year-old castle joins a property portfolio of Zuckerberg that reportedly runs to 11 properties in Palo Alto, besides others in Florida, Washington DC and Hawaii.
