Apple may widen India manufacturing beyond iPhones, Ashwini Vaishnaw hints

Union electronics and information technology minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Friday indicated that Apple could expand its manufacturing footprint in India beyond iPhones to products such as iPads and Mac computers, signalling a broader role for the country in the technology major’s global supply chain.

Asked whether Apple could manufacture products beyond iPhones in India, Vaishnaw said “yes”, without providing details on the products or timeline.
