India’s semiconductor talent challenge is shifting from headcount to system skills, product ownership: Executives
BENGALURU: India’s semiconductor talent challenge is no longer simply about producing more engineers. The bigger requirement is to build professionals who can connect silicon, software and systems while taking greater ownership of intellectual property and products, industry leaders said at the ETElectronicsWorld Design & Verification Summit 2026.
During a panel discussion on “Embedded AI & Edge Intelligence: Cultivating Talent and Skills for Smarter Devices”, speakers from Syrma SGS, Maven Silicon, Tejas Networks and Microsoft discussed how AI is changing the skills required across chip design and embedded systems, while Satya Gupta, president, VLSI Society of India, moderated the discussion around the gaps between academic preparation and industry needs.
