Bombay HC raps Maharashtra FDA over Amazon action: ‘Trying to kill a mosquito with a sword’

The Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is trying to “kill a mosquito with a sword,” the Bombay High Court said on Friday, chiding the agency for a drastic action against a warehouse of Amazon Retail India.

A bench of Acting Chief Justice Ravindra Ghuge and Justice Gautam Ankhad lauded the FDA’s crackdown against violation of rules, but asked whether shutting down all commercial establishments was the way to deal with the situation.
