Netflix CEO meets PM Modi; OTT giant unveils multi-phase storytelling, skilling programme in India

Netflix has announced a multi-phase programme to train creative talent in India, the Netflix India Storytelling Initiative, following a meeting between the company’s Co-Chief Executive Officer Ted Sarandos and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The two discussed the global reach of Indian storytelling and the streaming platform’s long-term plans in the country, the company said in a release.

The initiative will be rolled out through partnerships with Indian institutions and is aimed at building skills across the animation, visual effects, gaming and comics (AVGC) ecosystem, a segment the company described as a key driver of India’s orange economy.
