Kerala to launch AI-powered disaster management programme
Kerala Chief Minister V D Satheesan on Wednesday, August 5, announced that the state will roll out an artificial intelligence (AI)-backed disaster management and resilience programme aimed at strengthening early warning systems and improving preparedness for extreme weather events.
Speaking in Thiruvananthapuram, Satheesan said the proposed system, tailored to Kerala’s unique topography, would be among the country’s most effective disaster management frameworks. The initiative will leverage AI to enhance forecasting capabilities and provide timely alerts for sudden weather changes.
