Amazon faces lawsuit in New Jersey for ‘unlawfully maintaining dominant power over delivery drivers’
The State of New Jersey has filed a federal antitrust lawsuit against Amazon.com, accusing the e-commerce giant of abusing its market dominance to suppress wages, impose harsh working conditions and stifle competition across its network of independent delivery drivers. The complaint, filed on Tuesday (August 4) in the US District Court in Newark by New Jersey Attorney General Jennifer Davenport, alleges that Amazon uses its Delivery Service Partner (DSP) program to exercise illegal control over third-party delivery contractors and their workforce.
