Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev provides update on X account hack
Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev said on Tuesday that a hacker who posted fake content about a memecoin on his X account last week used social engineering to bypass security guardrails.
The hack, which took place on July 23, was used to promote a token called “Vladhood” on Tenev’s account. The account was fully restored, and the post was taken down later that day.
“A fraudster socially engineered X customer support to gain access, bypassing standard security features like 2FA and login notifications…,” Tenev said in a post on X.
