Google confirms Pixel 11 price increase, reveals ‘dedicated efforts’ to make phones accessible and efficient
Google has reportedly confirmed that its upcoming Pixel 11 smartphone lineup will see a price increase. The company cited the global memory crisis that has sent the cost of smartphone hardware soaring. Talking to 9to5Google, Shakil Barkat, Google’s vice president of devices and services, revealed that the company can no longer absorb the rising supplier costs driving the tech industry’s current supply chain crunch.
Pointing to Morgan Stanley data, Barkat noted a sixfold increase in component costs, where the price of 1GB of RAM surged from $2.80 in 2025 to $12 this year.
