While tech layoffs cross 1 lakh in US, Europe’s biggest technology company is offering employees $20,000-plus bonus if they stay until 2030

ASML is reportedly offering employees a $20,000 retention bonus if they stay in Europe’s biggest technology company from 2027 until at least 2030. According to a report by Seeking Alpha, the bonus will be given on January 1, 2027 and vested on January 1, 2030. The announcement comes as US-based companies cut a total of 139,156 in 2026 so far, per Challenger, Gray & Christmas. Confirming the plans to the publication, a company spokesperson said “ASML is in a period of continued growth and development, as reflected in our latest quarterly results”.

“In the first half of the year, we took several important steps, including announcing plans to further expand our capacity in 2027 and 2028 and raising our outlook for 2026.
