CCI finds HP India, 21 resellers involved in cartelisation, imposes ₹142 crore penalty

NEW DELHI: India’s competition watchdog, CCI, has found PC and laptop maker HP guilty of rigging bids on the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) platform, ordering the company and 21 of its resellers to stop the “anti-competitive” conduct and pay penalties totalling ₹142.37-crore.

The Competition Commission of India (CCI), in its orders issued late Monday, found that HP India dictated price bids to its resellers and selectively withheld authorisation documents to control which of them could compete for government contracts.
