AI-powered deployment automation: Accelerating network delivery from planning to optimisation
India’s digital infrastructure is undergoing one of the largest network build-outs in decades. Telecom operators deployed hundreds of thousands of 5G base stations in one of the fastest 5G rollouts worldwide, while the government-backed BharatNet* programme is extending fibre connectivity to gram panchayats to bridge the rural digital divide.
At the same time, hyperscalers and cloud providers are rapidly expanding data centre and interconnect infrastructure across Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities. According to ICRA, India’s operational data centre capacity is expected to nearly double to 2,400-2,500 MW by FY2028, backed by around ₹90,000 crore (approximately $10.74 billion) of investment during FY2026-FY2028.
