Meta’s reply on Instagram ads promoting CSAM ‘under investigation’: MeitY’s Krishnan

NEW DELHI: Meta Platforms Inc.’s reply to a government notice on Instagram advertisements allegedly promoting child sexual abuse material (CSAM) is currently under investigation, said a senior official of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) on Monday.

“On the CSAM content, we had issued a notice to Meta, and the reply was received on Saturday, which was the last day due for the reply. It is currently under examination,” S Krishnan, secretary, MeitY, told reporters here.
