Bid to curb child abuse content, IT ministry seeks tougher rules on illegal videos

The ministry of electronics and IT has written to the women and child development ministry regarding the need to strengthen rules curbing the creation of visual content related to child sexual abuse, sources said on Monday.

The IT ministry’s move came while examining issues pertaining to Instagram ads facilitating access to child sexual abuse material, and the officials felt it was necessary to curb the circulation of such videos.
