Upload data on education department portal or face action, government warns private schools

The state government has warned private schools of “appropriate action” if they fail to upload enrolment details on an education department portal.

In a July 8 order, the education department said that several private schools in the state “either do not submit” their data or “submit incomplete/inaccurate information”.

The order shared with the commissioner of the Kolkata Municipal Corporation and all district magistrates states that a sizeable number of enrolled students remain outside the database, “resulting in an understatement of actual enrolment and distortion of the state’s educational indicators”.
