Google is changing how ads are served to stop you from being fooled

Google is introducing a major transparency feature to prevent everyday web surfers from being tricked by AI-generated content. The update aim to help internet users quickly identify synthetic media, while giving legitimate advertisers tools to comply with fast-evolving digital safety standards. The highlight of Google’s new transparency push is a new section called “How this ad was made,” which is being integrated directly into the global My Ad Center panel.

Moving forward, users worldwide can simply click the standard three-dot menu or the information icon on any advertisement they encounter while browsing Google Search, watching YouTube videos, or scrolling through the Google Discover feed.
