Call management apps cannot block, filter calls from 1600, 140 series numbers, clarifies TRAI
NEW DELHI: The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) on Friday clarified that any tagging, blocking, or filtering of calls originating from the 1600-series and the 140-series by caller management applications is not permitted.
It, however, noted that subscribers have the right to allow or block promotional calls originating from 140-series numbers from entities by registering their preference on the Do Not Disturb (DND) registry.
