Western vs Chinese divide may drag 6G development: Jefferies

NEW DELHI: The differing approaches between Western telecom gear makers, including Ericsson, Nokia, Samsung, and Qualcomm, and Chinese Huawei and ZTE may drag 6G development, said analysts at Jefferies.

“Western network vendors (ie, Qualcomm, Ericsson, Nokia, Samsung) are naturally keen as 6G represents potentially big business. But Huawei/ZTE may not see it that way, since they are constrained on semiconductors, and they have lost most Western markets,” said analysts at Jefferies.
