India to join inaugural UN dialogue on AI governance in Geneva
The high-level meeting marks the launch of the UN’s first universal, multi-stakeholder forum on AI governance, established under the UN General Assembly Resolution 79/325 following the adoption of the Global Digital Compact as part of the Pact of the Future in September 2024.
The dialogue aims to advance international cooperation on AI governance while complementing national, regional and multilateral efforts to ensure the technology is developed and deployed responsibly. It will also focus on strengthening capacities, particularly in developing countries, to harness AI for sustainable development.
