    Infineon opens its largest fab for power semiconductors in Dresden with €5-billion investment

    NEW DELHI: Infineon said on Thursday it has opened its “Smart Power Fab” for making power chips in Dresden, Germany, several months ahead of schedule.

    The German semiconductor company said it has invested €5 billion into the plant, representing its single largest investment to date. It is expected to create 1,000 new direct jobs.
