Seoul stocks plunge 8% as Samsung, SK hynix shares tumble
South Korean stocks plunged nearly eight percent at close Thursday as tech giants Samsung and SK hynix tumbled on fears of slowing AI chip demand.
The slide on the Kospi market was triggered by a tech-led rout just days after the companies announced a massive investment in a chip-building hub and AI data centres in South Korea.
