Tata Communications to invest $152 mn for subsea network capacity between India-Singapore
NEW DELHI: Tata Communications on Tuesday said it is adding capacity to its global subsea cable network, linking India with Singapore, with a cumulative investment of $152 million.
To that extent, Tata Communications is adding 20Tbps capacity to the MIST Cable System, between Mumbai and Singapore, which will involve a $63 million investment in FY27.
The diversified telecom company is additionally investing as a consortium member in a new subsea cable system, connecting Chennai to Singapore under Project CS, with 78Tbps capacity and an $89 million investment between FY27 and FY31. This system is expected to be service-ready by the fourth quarter of 2029.
