Starlink, Eutelsat-OneWeb, SES India under ‘signal spillage’ scrutiny from MHA

NEW DELHI: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) is examining national security-related issues such as “signal spillage” in border areas before it can approve satellite companies — the US-based Starlink, British Eutelsat-OneWeb and Luxembourg-based SES, according to a top government source.

“Security has always been an important issue, especially in terms of signal spillage into the borders. So that’s a national concern, and the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) is working on that front,” a senior government official told ET, adding that security remains a top priority before approving.
