After long wait, mobile networks begin activation on Mumbai Metro 3 underground route
MUMBAI: Mobile connectivity has started returning on Mumbai Metro 3’s underground Aqua Line, marking the first visible sign of a breakthrough in the long-running impasse between the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) and telecom operators over providing cellular services inside tunnels and stations.
Several commuters on Wednesday reported receiving Vodafone signals while travelling on the corridor, indicating that the process of activating mobile networks has begun. Until now, passengers had largely remained disconnected once trains entered the underground section, leading to frequent complaints about the lack of connectivity.
