Price hikes soften smartphone demand; Intel Core Ultra processors to drive AI PCs: Redington
NEW DELHI: A top executive of Redington said recent price hikes as a result of component-side supply pressures have dampened smartphone demand in India by nearly 10-15% year-on-year in key segments, but festive season offers may aid in recovery.
“From $200 to $300 (₹19,000-28,000) and $300 to $400 (₹28,000-38,000) and more, the current price increase has dampened a little bit of demand. The growth is now at 20-25%, instead of 35-40%,” Ramesh Natarajan, CEO (India & Middle East), Redington, told ETElectronicsWorld in an interview.
