Applied Materials to deepen investment in semiconductor R&D in India: Avi Avula

NEW DELHI: American chip equipment manufacturer Applied Materials plans to set up a semiconductor research and development (R&D) centre in India.

“Semiconductor ecosystems must be built collaboratively. That is why we have consistently said that for every dollar Applied Materials invests, we would ideally like to see approximately four to five times that amount invested by ecosystem and supply-chain partners,” Avi Avula, president, Applied Materials India, told ETElectronicsWorld.
