Airtel Priority Postpaid plan does not violate net neutrality, Trai regulations: Sources
NEW DELHI: Bharti Airtel’s Priority Postpaid plan does not prima facie violate net neutrality laws or the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India’s (Trai) discriminatory tariff framework of 2016, highly-placed sources said.
“Prima facie, there is no net neutrality contravention or a breach of the 2016 regulatory regime. We are examining its (plan’s) impact on other customers,” a source privy to the matter told ET, adding that Airtel’s fifth generation (5G) network service quality is under scrutiny.
