MeitY launches online portal to facilitate policy awareness, EoDB for semicon industry
The Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY) on Tuesday launched the “Investors Support” online portal to drive policy and information awareness regarding various semiconductor-related schemes, regulatory requirements, and approved projects, to improve the ease of doing business.
The portal will also enable investors to register their grievances/concerns, which will be resolved by the officials of India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) with the support of nodal officers of concerned ministries, departments, organisations, state governments, approved project companies, and international and national trade bodies and associations, according to the MeitY.
Under ISM, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government has approved 12 projects so far, together with 24 semiconductor design projects.
Amitesh Kumar Sinha, CEO, ISM, emphasised the importance of handholding and facilitation of foreign investors and urged representatives of all concerned stakeholders to proactively discharge their respective roles in addressing concerns of the investors for further strengthening the semiconductor manufacturing and design ecosystem in the country.
Relevant stakeholders will also get a secure, role-based, single-window digital interface for streamlined coordination and time-bound resolution of concerns.
ETTelecom, in its February 25, 2026, edition, reported that the Centre would launch a single-window scheme to facilitate smooth business operations between foreign semiconductor companies and their Indian entities and suppliers.
“Ease of doing business in semiconductors is about speed, coordination, ecosystem access, and trusted handholding — this initiative delivers exactly that,” said Ashok Chandak, president of IESA & SEMI India.
“The platform will significantly improve India’s global investment optics and reinforce confidence among international companies evaluating India as a long-term semiconductor and electronics destination,” Chandak added.
