Pope Leo XIV’s decision to present his first major artificial intelligence-focused encyclical alongside Anthropic co-founder Christopher Olah has opened a new line of engagement between the Catholic Church and the technology industry. At the Vatican event, Pope Leo said the Church and Anthropic would work together to “find the way for humanity, in this time of artificial intelligence.”
