Bharti Airtel reappoints Sunil Mittal as chairman for 5 years
NEW DELHI: Bharti Airtel on Wednesday reappointed its founder, Sunil Bharti Mittal, as the chairman of the board for five years until September 30, 2031, according to a regulatory filing by the telco.
Mittal’s current term as the Chairman was due to expire on September 30.
“We wish to inform you that on the recommendation of HR & Nomination Committee, the Board of Directors of the company…has approved…reappointment of Sunil Bharti Mittal as the Chairman of the company for a further term of five consecutive years w.e.f. October 01, 2026,” the Gurugram-headquartered telecom carrier said in the filing.
