Google launched TPU 8t and TPU 8i at the recently held Google Cloud Next event and Thomas Kurian, the head of Google Cloud, has a strong message for Microsoft and Amazon: the company is coming for your share with its new chips and along with rapid advances at its DeepMind AI lab. He said that Google is no longer just a “reseller” of other people’s technology in the fiercely competitive cloud computing market.

“We’re not just a hyperscaler reselling other people’s technology. Our differentiation comes down to the fact that we own the IP, the model and the chips are ours.
